DXbase for Windows and Office 2000

Woodstock, GA – June 11, 1999 – Installation of the Microsoft Office 2000 product updates a number of .DLL files which are shared by DXbase.  These updated files cause no harm to DXbase and it continues to perform just fine.  This compatibility, in part, results from the fact that DXbase for Windows complies with standard programming techniques.

Be careful about opening your DXbase database in the updated version of Microsoft Access contained in their Office 2000 product.  The format of Access databases created in Office 2000 is different than their previous formats.  DXbase uses the Access 97 format.  So, this means that you can continue to open your DXbase database using Office 2000.  You can continue to create your own Access reports and so forth.  BUT, do not save your DXbase database to the new Office 2000 format.   Instead, save it to the previous Office 97 format, or simply don't save it from Office 2000.

Thanks,
