Designing computer software is a lot like
constructing a house. An architect can select only top quality construction
materials; they can engineer the floor plan down to the last detail; they can check and
recheck their blue prints; and in general put the necessary time and expertise into the
product so that you get the absolute best house possible. One which will serve you
trouble-free for years to come. Or, they can use lower quality materials, less
planning, and in general deliver something that may look nice but isn't as robust as it
otherwise could be.
When our developers were planning the design for DXbase, we faced the same kinds of
decisions. We were careful to use industry standard programming techniques.
We chose one of the most reliable and robust databases on the market. We took into
account the fact that you will be running other software on your machine and thus DXbase
had to share computer memory and other hardware in a non intrusive manner. In short,
we planned the design of DXbase to the highest possible standards. When you look at
the DXbase screens, you may not realize all that goes on behind the scenes. You may
not know, for example, that we try to validate anything that gets placed into your
database even if you try to enter incorrect data. You may not know that when you
install DXbase, we protect the process to insure that we don't overwrite any existing
files and shared .DLLs unless ours is a later version. You may not know that our
user interface was designed to be ergonomically sound and consistent with other high
calibur commercial software applications.
We thought you might like to know that we were careful to consider the industry
accepted standards of Microsoft Certification Requirements. Why does this matter?
Well, it means that you can be comfortable that when you install DXbase, the
process is not going to harm your system by overwriting newer files that might exist on
your system. It means that when Microsoft changes and otherwise updates the Windows
operating systems, that DXbase will still perform. It means that if you already know
how to use other applications which meet Microsoft Certification Requirements, you'll
easily recognize how to navigate the DXbase screens too.
In a phrase, "It means that we put a tremendous amount of thought and planning
into DXbase which you might not see, but isn't it nice to know that it's there."
There are many imitators, but none give you the quality and professionalism that
DXbase provides. At Scientific Solutions, our developers are experts who do
programming everyday for a living. They are in tune with today's technology.
They know the in's and out's of "doing it right". And, they know what it
takes to develop software that will perform trouble free. We deliver software for
the amateur radio hobby, but we're not amateur programmers. See for yourself what
professional software can do for you.
