LogWindows contains a bug in its ADIF export

Symptom
When using recent versions of the program called "LogWindows" to export your data to ADIF, an entry is made for every QSO record that flags the QSO record as being made via satellite on a satellite named ">".  The entry appears in the ADIF file from LW as follows:

<SAT_NAME:>>

If you have imported an ADIF file that contains this LW bug, your statistics in DXbase will not reflect any HF results because DXbase has categorized all your QSOs as being made via satellite.

Cause The "bogus" entry is invalid according to the ADIF standard.  This appears to be a bug in the LogWindows program's ADIF export function.
Solution You can open your .adi file using Wordpad.  If you see this entry in your .adi file then you have two choices.

1.  You can contact the makers of LW and attempt to obtain a fix and then re-export your data.

2.  Using the search/replace mechanism in Wordpad, you can fix your .adi file by searching for <SAT_NAME:>> and replace with <DUMMY:0>  Do the replace for all entries found.  DXbase will ignore the <DUMMY:0> entry and thus your .adi file will be processed as you expected.

If you have already imported a LW ADIF file that contained the LW bug, you will want to create a new empty DXbase database so that you can re-import your data into a fresh database.
