Importing Other Data

DXbase for Windows includes direct importing capabilities for a wide variety of other logging and contest software.  These cover the majority of those products that may have been used by others.  If you find that you have a need to import data from another product that is not listed as a standard import, drop us a note about it.  It might be that we have an import option that is not listed.

In the event that we do not have an import option, there are a few choices:

  • It may be that you can get your data into one of the formats that is supported such as ADIF and you can import your data using this approach.
  • It may be that you can export your data to an ascii format and modify it into one of the imports that we do support.
  • We can assist you in contracting with a programmer who will import your data.   Charges would vary depending on the amount of time required to perform the import.

Importing Excel or Filemaker logs

Many hams have created their own QSO logs using Microsoft Excel and other types of programs.  The best approach for importing these types of databases into DXbase is to convert your data into the ADIF format and then import the resulting ADIF file into DXbase.  VE3IAY has prepared a detailed description of accomplishing this in Excel.   Visit his web site for more information.

Need Help Importing ProLog?

First choice is to use the ADIF export option of ProLog and then import the ADIF file into DXbase.  Some versions of ProLog did not provide an ADIF capability.  For those, Jack, N2JT, has developed some tools to import ProLog.  Drop him an email for details.
